Hi there, i'm new around here my name is Siniestro and i'm from Argentina... i have the AVerTV HD PRO H868 and i have ONE very important problem with NextPVR.

The thing is, NPVR recognizes the tuner as "AVerMedia USB Polaris Digital Tuner" so i guess that is fine and it's "working" properly but the thing is that when i scan for channels doesn't find any.
i did the scan in "All Country" and "All Region" and all possible options and nothing... i tried to search manually too but nothing.

now, i have installed the provided Software by Avermedia and it finds all the channels correctly and super fast the same thing goes for Windows Media Center.

Seeing the frequencies in the provided software i noticed that the lowest frequency of the first channel is "55250" and the highest is "535250".

i must say that i don't know anything about this, it's my first time with this kind of hardware and really don't know how all this "TV" technicality works so please i need some help, i want to use XBMC as the Default program for seeing TV.

Thanks in advance and excuse my English.

Regards.

This may need some help from sub. Argentina uses "ISDB-T with modification by Brazil". Here is a discussion on the media portal forum:

http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/thread...na.113615/

The tuner is especially for Brazil-like TV:

Quote:AVerTV HD PRO is the most functional complete USB 2.0 Pen-Drive TV tuner solution for Analog, SBTVD (ISTB-t for Brazil) TV

I'm guessing a tuning file with the correct frequencies may be needed. But then, Sub may need to do something to get the stream IDs etc from the tuner.

I'll go look at the logs now. Smile

Here is a hacked-up tuning file. Put this in the Users/Public/NPVR/Tuning/DVB folder and then try a scan for Argentina-Some Regions and post the log again. Argentina uses different frequencies compared to Europe and other places that use DVB-T. I'd be surprised if this works, but we might see if the tuner can find a signal on the frequency.

Your logs show the tuner can't find a signal on the frequencies it is trying. If you could find the tuning parameters that the tuner software uses, that might help.

I don't know the format of the NPVR tuning file very well, so I just put in the frequencies reported on the MediaPortal forum, and the 6 Mhz bandwidth. The 125 offset might need to be somewhere, but I don't know where.

Here's the xml for one channel from MediaPortal:

Quote:<DVBTTuning>
<Frequency>599143</Frequency>
<BandWidth>6</BandWidth>
<Offset>125</Offset>
</DVBTTuning>

Hi there, thanks for your help, i pasted the "some regions" file and did a scan, and not a single channel appeared.

Here i have the log that you requested.

Thanks for your most appreciated help.

The tuner still does not lock a frequency. The only thing I can suggest is add the 125 offset to the tuning string, but I am not sure where it goes.

The NPVR tuning file entry has the format:

frequency,?,?,bandwidth - I don't know what the two question mark entries are for. No other DVB-T countries have anything but 0 in these positions. I'm thinking one of these could be the offset. So, you could edit the ini file and put 125 in place of one of the 0's and try that. If it doesn't work, put the 125 in place of the other 0.

You can examine the npvr.log file and find the tuning attempts - the frequency will be stated, followed by something like signal=, quality=, locked= line. These will tell you if the tuner can find a signal. Then it has to get the program stream information from the signal. But first, we have to get it tuned.

Here's a line from trying to scan a channel that doesn't exist:

Quote:2014-10-26 10:26:47.024 [DEBUG][1] locked=0, present=0, strength=-1, quality=-1

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will stop by and can help.

Unfortunately there isn't much to go on in those logs. There is no errors shown. It looks like it goes through the normal motions but the device never manages to lock onto a signal.

About all I can suggest is what mike was already trying above, ie making sure it's trying to scan the correct frequencies.

hi... again, tried and is not working.

i pasted the "regions" the mike provided, then when it didn't work i went to the "Avertv 3d" (provided software) and searched the exact frequencies that avertv 3d searched for the channels... only copied 3 (the first 3 working channels) and modified the "regions" file and deleted the others and left only 3... the original file looks like these.

original (not working)

Code:
[TERTYPE]
[TERTYPE]
1=Argentina
2=Some Regions

[DVB]
0=16
1=1,521143,0,0,6
2=2,527143,0,0,6
3=3,533143,0,0,6
4=4,539143,0,0,6
5=5,545143,0,0,6
6=6,551143,0,0,6
7=7,557143,0,0,6
8=8,563143,0,0,6
9=9,569143,0,0,6
10=10,575143,0,0,6
11=11,581143,0,0,6
12=12,587143,0,0,6
13=13,593143,0,0,6
14=14,599143,0,0,6
15=15,605143,0,0,6
16=16,647143,0,0,6

then i used the working frequencies for the first three working channels...(still nothing)

Code:
[TERTYPE]
1=Argentina
2=Some Regions

[DVB]
0=3
1=1,55250,0,0,6
2=2,61250,0,0,6
3=3,67250,0,0,6

then i added the "125" on the left and the right... and nothing...

Code:
[TERTYPE]
1=Argentina
2=Some Regions

[DVB]
0=3
1=1,55250,0,125,6
2=2,61250,0,125,6
3=3,67250,0,125,6

i dont know what else to do, added that i don't quite understand how all this works....

thank you for your help.

Try adding the 125 offset to the frequency value shown above and also try subtracting it ... so try 1=1,55375,0,0,6 and 1=1,55125,0,0,6
