Black screen then reboot

Hi,

I have a problem when watching recordings, after about 5-10 minutes the screen goes black, audio stutters and then a few minutes later the PC reboots. It doesn't happen with all recordings, DVB-T recordings seem ok.

I notice that when I watch live tv that every few minutes the playback stutters slightly, I'm not sure if this would cause a problem with a recordings?

Signal is strong and I don't experience any problems when using ServerWMC as the backend.

My understanding is you need to turn off EPG updates during LiveTV.

I'll try that and see if it helps, I would guess the recording I tried would still fail as it would have an error in it from when updates were fetched?

Hi Martin,

I've disabled EPG updates but I am still getting the stuttering on playback, both within nPVR and Kodi, signal strength is over 90% so not sure what the problem is.

Any other ideas?

Are you watching a HD recording when the problem occurs? If so, what cpu and what graphic card are you using?

Reboots by itself? Maybe some driver issue is crashing your machine.

It's a dual core i5, I don't think its the processor as it doesn't seem to be struggling and plays fine using ServerWMC.

I don't think its a driver issue, the system has been very stable until I started using NextPVR. It's possible that the recording I was trying was corrupt and caused an issue but that wouldn't really explain the stuttering and pixelation for Live TV?
