Altering the recorded file name?

Is there a way to alter how the recorded file name is appended?

For instance, is there a way for a dash to be placed in the date to make it easier to read such as:
Miami Vice_2015-03-19.ts without the additional digits?

Better yet, rearrange the date as Miami Vice_03-19-2015.ts?

There is nothing build in to do this. You could probably roll your own renaming solution in PostRecording.bat. I'm terrible with batch files though, so can't help you with this.
