HD channels no sound - sd stations all fine

New to NextPVR
- just trying out nextpvr (looks good) in windows7 as possible replacement for media centre (which will be missing in windows 10) for live tv playback

NextPVR seems to work fine with HDHome run/SB xifi for sd stations (stereo) all ok
One problem is that on high def stations I am not getting any sound (eg Aus ABC News 24)
In MS media centre (where sound works) it says these channels are Dolby surround
Am I missing a codec perhaps/wrong decoder ?

any hints/ideas would be appreciated

whoops - if I had read this post I would have seen the answer with ac3filter decoder problem now fixed
NextPVR Tech Support - READ BEFORE POSTING
"the Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder will not work for AC3 Audio. Try AC3Filter (http://ac3filter.net) instead."

I'm having the same problem with Freeview HD UK channels (e.g. BBC 2 HD). Non HD sound is fine. Tried changing HE-AAC Audio decoder to LAV and ffdshow but no joy. Tried updating the LAV codec to 0.65 but NPVR still picks up v 0.62. Not sure if this is relevant. HD sound works fine in Media Center (which I'm about to lose with Windows 10).

Any suggestions?

Try the AC3Filter found here. I believe I used the lite version...

HE-AAC is the right format for DVB-T2, and LAV should work. With LAV selected, try clicking the button just to the right of the HE-AAC dropdown list and configuring it for use with HE-AAC and NextPVR.

Thanks Zeb! HE-AAC and NextPVR did not appear as formats for decoding, but simply ticking AAC did the trick. Success!
