Hello,

I have some problem with XMLTV in GBPVR. I am using XMLTV on a linux system. I have a complete and update file that I browsed to in capture source-> XMLTV plugin settings. From the settings windows I push <Update EPG> and the channels are shown. After ordering the channels I press ok. Looking in GBPVR TVGuide I see an up to date list of programs.

In Livetv the information shown for some of the channels are ok, while for other channels the channelname is correct but the program information shown
is not.

Strange thing is that in first set-up the xmltv file is read correctly and it appears the program information is used, but if I do "Update EPG" from the tray-icon menu it says: error reading xml the root element is missing.

I have used standard XMLTV
Code:
tv_grab_nl --output ~dries/nl.xml

Am I doing something silly here or is there something that causes these 2 problems? I am a complete GB-PVR noob, just installed my Hauppauge PVR150 2 days ago.

I know this isn't very helpful, but it sounds like your tv_grab_nl grabber is not generating an valid XML/XMLTV file.

Maybe you should use tv_grab_nl_wolf, which works fine on my machine.

Remember the ordening is not done in the Capture Sources window, in that one you're assigning the channels. Personally I used freq2reg to assign logical channel numbers to the stations, so '1' is 'Nederland 1', etc. I obtained the exact frequencies from the website of the Cable company. The ordering of the channels can be done from within the Channels window.

Solution was actually pretty simple: unix2dos for the resulting xml file on the linux box.

Probably the EPG algorithme in the configuration does handle unix files [lf]
while the EPG stuff of the recording services is probably counting
on dos files [cr][lf]

Now I have another issue with channels first 11 are ok but others are not.
But have no time to look into that now so I will post on that later because
it definetelt looks like GBPVR is doing something strange.

HenkH: I did indeed say ordering but what I meant is assign the correct channels to the ones in the EPG and that is done in capture source. Later on I indeed ordered them. Thanx for your reply , tv_grab_nl_wolf seems to do a better job!
