I have a realtek 2832u USB tuner that worked perfectly with nextpvr and Windows 10.

I recently upgraded to Wimdows 10, making a clean install, and after reinstalling the tuner drivers and nextpvr I'm unable to set up the card.

When I select my region in the drop down of the setup page and press the scan button it apparently scans normally, but when it finishes no channels appear on the list.

I have tried to plug the tuner on a Win 7 laptop and it works correctly, so it's not an issue with the tunner or the aerial cable.

Has someone managed to get a realtek 2832u tuner working under Win 10?

Thanks!

did you try an "all countries all regions" scan? sometimes the scanning files get out of date, which pretty much only gets corrected when someone discovers it's wrong and provides a new file. the all regions scan checks all possible frequencies.
server: NextPVR 5.0.7/Win10 2004/64-bit/AMD A6-7400k/hvr-2250 & hvr-1250/Winegard Flatwave antenna/Schedules Direct
main client: NextPVR 5.0.7 Desktop Client; LG 50UH5500 WebOS 3.0 TV

Yes, I have just tried this with no results. I'm not sure if it's an nPVR issue, or it has something to do with the tuner and Windows 10.

I have tried to manually install the tuner drivers that came with the CD, but Windows tells me that the driver it provides is newer and doesn't let me change it. I have also looked for updated drivers in the realtek website with no luck Sad

Is someone here using a Realtek 2832u tuner in Windows 10?

I have a couple of the RTL tuners I bought for SDR such as SDR# and for receiving aircraft ADS-B signals but had no luck using it as a TV receiver for NextPVR as it will not work on my server. Are you using it plugged into a powered hub as that is what many users have to resort to. Although it seems to work ok with a RPi it does not work in any of my modern computers so I resort to 10 year old laptop and a Pentium 4 computer to use the RTL device as I don't have a powered hub. It appears that modern computers are not able to supply enough power from the USB socket!!

It's plugged directly to a motherboard USB port. It worked flawlessly under Windows 7 plugged in that same port.

I finally found a newer driver that worked. Strangely, it is impossible to find in the realtek webpage.

It seems that originally Windows refused to install the driver that came with the card, as the one that came with it was "newer".

I think Realtek in general has issues with some of the drivers that come with Win10. I had to download a different driver for my NIC card (vs the one that came with Windows 10) to get WOL to work again.

I have the same problem and can't find a newer driver. Please could you tell me where you found your working driver?
Thanks very much

I got my new drivers from realtek itself http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/down...Down=false

Thanks Martin but I could only see the HD Audio Codec, nothing specifically for the Realtek 2832U TV Tuner dongle - although I may be showing my ignorance of how these things work! I have also emailed Realtek in Taiwan and in the US but no response.

I have exactly the same problem as Amt0571 above, in that my tuner dongle worked perfectly under Win7 64-bit - at that stage, I was using Presto (that came with the dongle) or Windows Media Center (not available with Win10). Since upgrading to Win10 64-bit and finding that Presto couldn't find any channels, I tried NextPVR, and then one or two other products but each of them appears to scan normally but doesn't find a single channel. The antenna works perfectly with a "real" TV so I assume that the problem is specific to the Win10 environment.

Device Mgr shows the driver as: Provider: REALTEK, Date: 4/03/2009, Version: 64.1.304.2009, Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher.
The "Driver Details" display shows the file version as 64.0001.0220.2009 and the Driver files in use as: BdaSup.sys, ksthunk.sys, RTL2832UBDA.sys and RTL2832UUSB.sys

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Roger
