I was looking on the NexPVR website for a statement about the compatibility of NextPVR with Windows 10. I couldn't find one. The only statement I did find is at the following page.
http://nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Qu...requisites

Windows 8 is the latest OS mentioned as acceptable.

1) Can anyone provide insight regarding Win 10 and NextPVR?

2) Can anyone comment on the best path to migrate from Win 7 to "Win 10 + NextPVR". Go to Win 10 first, or install Next PVR first?

Many Thanks

Yep, works fine on Win 10.

Either order is fine.

I've had it running on Win10 32 & 64Bit Insider 10162.

I now use it on Win 10 32Bit normal release. No glitches.

Which ever way you go should be fine.

I upgraded my testrig and to my big surprise everything in npvr works great Big Grin decoders are present and so are the drivers for the tuners.

+1. A painless transition from an in-place working NextPVR install on Windows 7 x64.
The only minor issue I had was with WebGrab+ needing admin rights to run as a schedueld task to get the EPG.

NextPVR works fine on Windows 10 but I have had to re-install my Windows 8.1 Image as Windows 10 will not encode to dts over SPDIF at the moment (It's not ready yet) Seems it has had an Audio Processing Object missing for the last 8 to 10 months. Even AC3filter appears to fail on dolby encoding now. Without DTS Connect everything that is not native dts or DD (Passthrough at Full Volume  ) is just stereo - I have a lot of AAC 5.1 content and spent a lot of time building surround speakers to match my Realistic Mach 1 speakers (Radio Shack (US) / Tandy (UK)) that I've had for over 30 years.

Imagine going to your local Multiplex to be told they have updated the sound system and it now works in stereo only!

If Microsoft ever get this working - I will be reinstalling 10 in a flash.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Good to know! Then I won't upgrade my htpc yet, I love my surround system Smile

It worked perfectly on windows 8.1, when I moved to the Windows 10 does not work anymore. The channels are detected but clicking on live TV just get a black screen with no audio.

I have already installed several codec packages and not solved.
