NPVR Connection Lost

I don't know if this is related or not but I bought a NEO x8-H and set it to use NPVR as the PVR and now my other computer running Kodi and NPVR is having the dreaded "PVR Client Connection Lost" issue with NPVR. I have checked to ensure that NPVR is not being blocked by my Windows Firewall or AVG AntiVirius.

I searched the forums and can't find anything specific about this problem. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I shut down and restarted Kodi and attached the logs.

Can you enable debug logging in Kodi, restart Kodi and try again, then post the kodi.log?

I uninstalled NPVR and Kodi and then reinstalled both and I am still having the same no connection problem. Both are on the same machine and both are enabled to pass through the firewall. I am using a HDHomerun and can view live TV through NPVR. I must be overlooking something small and its frustrating. Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Jason

I'm thinking Kodi cannot connect to your recording service (is it running?)

Plus there is a timeout shortly after that, kind of looks like Firewall or Recording service not running...

How did you check that NRecord wasn't being blocked?

Yeah, it's never managing to connect

You could try opening http://127.0.0.1:8866 in your web browser to check the web server is running ok.

Do you still have the web server enabed. Looking on NRecord.logs it jumps from starting remoting to OnStart() complete. You might to to restart the backend.

Here's what I just did.

I stopped the NPVR service and then restarted it. I then opened NextPVR and I can view Live TV and see the EPG. I opened KODI and NPVR connection lost shows again. To enable the web server I am running "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\NPVRServiceControl.exe" start

Next I checked Windows Firewall and observed that NextPVR and NRecord are allowed through the firewall. I checked my AVG AntiVirius and there is no AVG Firewall enabled.

I browsed to http://127.0.0.1:8866/ and the browser says that the webpage is not available. So I disabled Windows Firewall and tried again. Still won't load.

It sounds like this is the root of your problem.

If you stop the recording service, then delete you logs (including web.log), then restart the recording service, and try to browse to http://127.0.0.1:8866/, does a web.log get created?

No. A web.log is not created and I am not able to reach 127.0.0.1:8866
