Uanble to find capture devie after 3.5.7 upgrade

ERROR: Unable to find capture device

I upgraded to 3.5.7.
I stopped and disabled the SageDCT service
I stopped and disabled the NPVR Recording service
I disabled all 6 of the network recorders in devices
I ran device setup on each of the 6 Ceton Tuners (all channels appeared)

When I launch NextPVR, I can see my populated EPG but when I select a channel to watch I get "Unable to find capture device"

I'd suggestion stopping the recording service, renaming your npvr.db3 file to something like npvr.db3.old, then run up the app to force it to start from scratch (without remnants of NetworkRecorder/SageDCT channels), then scan the devices to set them up again.

If you've still got issues, let me know what happened and I'll take a closer look.

Yeah, you'll need 'NPVR Recording Service'. I missed that bit in your post.

You guide will still be mapped to the NetworkRecorder, have you re-added and remapped your Ceton?

Each channel in the EPG is duplicated (channel number and channel name) example.54 Fox News Channel and 54 FNC but only one of the has a populated program guide the other only says "no show details".

If I select the channel with the populated guide I get and error "Unable to find capture device Could not connect to 192.168.1.99:6979" (this is the IP of my machine). If I select the channel without the populated guide "no show details" the channel will play.

Under devices, I have
Type: DRI, Device: Ceton InfiniTV Tuner 6 .. thru Tuner 1. Present: Yes, Enabled: Yes, Channels 571
Type: NetworkRecorder, Device: NetworkRecorder.1.NetworkRecorder (thru NetworkRecorder 6, Present: Yes, Enabled: Yes, Channels 163 (I cleaned up a few channels)

Ok, that's still not right. Shouldn't have Network Recorder there.

Stop the recording service, delete the npvr.db3 again. Also delete the "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Plugins\NetworkRecorder" directory (or "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\Plugins\NetworkRecorder" if you have that). Then try running the app up again.

Head to the Settings->Devices screen, wait for it to scan for DRI devices. When that completes, double click one of them, and do a scan. Unselect the pile of channels you know are copy-protected (unfortunately can't tell which ones these are with a Ceton at this stage), then hit ok to save them. Double click the next device, and hit 'ok' when it askes to copy the configuration, etc.

Hopefully you should be then be in a functioning state.

I disabled it originally because I thought i read Sage and NPVR were no longer needed for Ceton. Since my original post, I now have it enabled

SageDCT and NetworkRecorder are no longer required.

You still need the 'NPVR Recording Service'. That is the NextPVR component that owns all the devices, and does recording and live tv.

Ah.. Ok

I followed the instructions on Post #7. I completely misssed this part.... also delete the "C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Plugins\NetworkRecorder" directory (or "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR\Plugins\NetworkRecorder" if you have that).
Everything works great!

To go back and sort channels, would I do that in Channels>Details>Channel ?
