So, this has become more common recently, and the last time I posted sub said something about if it could be recreated, maybe he could find something. I'm not sure how to go about it, but I have a number of recent instances of this happening, so if there are any suggestions of what I could try, I would appreciate it.

In the attached logs, there are 4 instances where the file ends up as 0 length - Public Morals on 9-22, The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore on 9-21 and 9-22, and College Football on 9-26 (luckily I recorded this on my other system, too, so I didn't miss it).

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Is it a SiliconDust HDHR Prime or Hauppauge DCR you're using?

You're probably going to need to catch it when one of these problem recordings is happening, and take a look in the HDHomeRun Config utility, so you can check if the signal is locked at the time, and where it thinks it's streaming to, and what bitrate of data it thinks it's streaming.

It's the Prime.

Okay, here's a new one. The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Log is attached, here's what the config program showed while it was supposedly recording:

Hope that helps. Let me know if I can do anything else - this happened earlier tonight, too, so it is getting worse.

If you run "netstat -a -b", do you see any other application using port 36318?

The only entry with 36318 says:

UDP 0.0.0.0:36316 *:*
[System]

EDIT - sorry, copied the wrong one, but the entry for 36318 says the same.

Any update on this? I think you are talking about the issue I just started having.
NextPVR is recording and mostly everything works but I have some (not all) of my recordings that don't have the correct video length.

Some of them show fine in windows explorer but if you open them in VLC or via another streaming service (such as Plex) they do not see the length.

I do utilize a HDHR Prime as my primary tuner and local Hauppage card as well.

I don't see a 36318 port on my system but do see the UDP 0.0.0.0:36316 as ttfitz pasted above.

Any ideas?

Nope. You're probably best to post your logs, and info about which recording failed. Also check the HDHR Config utility when a failed recording is underway.

The recording succeeds. I haven't had a failed recording yet. The length of the video is incorrect on some of the recordings. The HDHR device shows correct tuner lock and frees up after recording is finished.
I restarted the device just to cover that base just now.

Some recordings have shown 25 or 26 hrs as well.

Some recordings only show correct length in Windows Media Player. Opening the file in VLC on files with length issues shows a zero length video.

Here is one comparison of time between Plex and Windows Explorer.

Anything else specifically I should be able to locate for the time length issue?

Does it report the correct duration when played in NextPVR?

Yes it does. Only NextPVR and Windows Media Player from what I've seen.
Unfortunately I don't have all of the files with issues anymore. Windows Media Player was showing the ones with 25hr or 26hr lengths as well. Most players could not play those. The actual file length of those was appropriate to the show recorded.
