Hello everyone!

Everything seems to be working fine on my system. However, after I had recorded a few shows, I changed the location for my recorded files. I then moved the already recorded shows to the new directory, but now they don't show up on my list of recordings. The original directory was C:\temp. The new directory is c:\temp\TV Recordings.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thank you!

It may be too late. NextPVR maintains a database that contains the information about recordings including the file name and path. NextPVR uses the info in the database to find a recording file when you playback the recording.

The best way to move recordings (we are bolting the door after the horses fled) is to create an additional recording folder ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...rding#toc4 ... and then use Archive ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...rdingpopup

You may be able to retrieve the situation by moving the recording files back to the original folder.

But the default value of AutoRemoveMissingRecordings in config.xml may have deleted the recording entries from the database ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...n.Advanced

You can still play the recording files from the Video menu item.

You can probably import your recordings back into your system.

Look in your data directory (most likely - C:\Users\Public\NPVR) for a file recording-backup.xml. See if it has your recordings listed. If not, check recording-backup.xml.1 or .2. If you find one with your recordings, copy it to a new file that ends in .xml, like my-recordings.xml. Edit that file and change the location field of the recordings to point to the actual location. Save that. Start NextPVR and go into Settings-Recording. Click on Import Recordings near the bottom. Point it to the .xml file you edited.

What if your .xml files don't have your recordings? Instead of pointing the import to an xml file, point it to each recording, one at a time. You want the file that ends in .ts.

If neither of these work, let us know & we can probably guide you through other methods.

Yep, you seem to be right in that I am too late. Thankfully there wasn't many shows I recorded and like you said, I can still watch them.

Thanks for the help!

If there is just a few files, you can probably go to the Settings->Recordings screen, click Import Recordings, and just select the .ts files.
