Disable alternative data stream (ADS) possible?

My setup:
NextPVR 3.5.7 records to a folder on my NAS machine. ADS is NTFS only so when transferring to my NAS that isn't ntfs I get two extra files

<recording_name>.ts:Timing.Info$DATA

I do get the .xml, but on top of that I still get the two ADS files.

Is there no way to fully disable ADS?

The two datastreams (timing info and recording info) are vital to npvr's operations so disabling them is not a good idea even it it was possible)

An alternative is to transcode the recordings to mp4. Then you won't have the alternative data streams. The downside is that you cannot play them from the main menu on a client machine. If you add the directory on your NAS to the video paths you can navigate to the file and play it from the videos menu on a client though. I don't know why it will play from one place but not the other. This is the setup I use.

you can delete the files you don't want in postprocessing.bat, with commands like:

I record directly to the NAS and only get filename.Timing.Info no weird ADS files. I am guessing the weird names are being created by robocopy or whatever you are using to copy to your NAS.

he's not using robocopy, he's recording directly to the NAS. apparently his particular NAS deals with the ADS that it can't write inside the file by instead writing it out as a separate file.
