What is the problem with or fix for "This recording was watched to completion.....' Playback used to work but not anymore.
Also is there a way to set specific times to record or just the record and quick record? Thanks.

I'm not aware of any problem with this. What's the details?

You can use the Manual Record option in the top menu of the Recordings screen. It lets you specify channel and times.

Ok, got the manual recording setup info.

For watching my recording, I record something, then go to recordings, click on that recording and click play. It has a little pause and then the screen says: "This recording was watched to completion. Would you like to delete this recording?" And the buttons to click are OK or Cancel. No way to play the file there. I had never watched this recording at all previously. If I find the file on my HD wmp tries to open it but never can either. It is a MPEG-2 TS file with a .ts extension, is that right?

Can you make on of these recordings available somewhere for me to download?

If you need to, you can use CutChunk (http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...y.CutChunk) to cut a 100MB or so chunk from the file.

I read that on the decoders. I had to set an AC3 decoder for audio but the MS video ones worked for me. Do I need to try others to try to make the recording work ok? I have done some recordings previously that worked fine.

Hopefully this will work for you to download from. Thanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uw4ryJKooR0

Edit: I have been trying the setup off and on today and it is continuing to work ok tuner wise. I have made a couple test recordings and they complete and play fine. The complete file that the chunk came from will not play though. Hope this continues to work ok. It is a real nice picture, sound and it is a great recorder. I suppose it is a huge file size, but I have a large hard drive and I can convert anything I may want to keep. I would still like to work on the previous problem and I'll report if there are any more problems.

You need to post the actual .ts file produced by cutchunk from the NPVR recording somewhere like dropbox or other file sharing site where sub can download it. He can look at the file and hopefully determine why NPVR thinks it has already been played. There's lot of information in the file in addition to the pictures and the sound.

Ok, sorry about that. I wondered how a playable video would tell you anything. lol. Maybe I’ll be a youtube star now.

I see now why you only wanted a small portion of it, but hopefully this one will work for you: http://dropcanvas.com/lg1yk

The recorder has been working and recordings are playable. After watching one it has a box that asks if I want to delete it, but I can go back and rewatch them if I want to. This one old recording will not work though. Maybe just some kind of glitch or related to some other problem that is gone now.
