Hi sub and rkulagow. Sub added the option to download landscape artwork from Schedules Direct in order for Emby to get better image metadata. It seems that its only possible to receive landscape artwork in 360 x 270 resolution, which make the aspect ratio 4:3. Attachment 1. shows how that would look in Emby.
The second attachment shows that EmbyTV (built in service for HDHomeruns) seems to use different aspect ratio to get landscape thumbs from Schedules Direct.
Could there be an option to make NPVR get similar artwork from Schedules Direct to what Emby gets? Smile

The next release includes support for FanArt.tv artwork, which matches the resolution used by this artwork in Emby.

Thx for adding fanart.tv I suggested Smile Any change of setting same aspect ratio to to what Emby gets from Schedules Direct?
rkulagow said this:

"If the hasImage boolean is true, and you
retrieve the image via the API call

You would then use the aspect ratio field if you're looking for a
particular size, or the actual height/width that's in the element.

There shouldn't be anything that prevents use of any of the "assets/"
URIs that you see in the JSON image response, so I don't know if
that's a technical limitation on the NextPVR side"

On the few shows I looked at on Schedules Direct, they had lots of artwork, but I couldn't see the same aspect ratio artwork as that from FanArt.tv that Schedules Direct uses.

I'm going to ask Emby on what aspect ratio they use.

I think they use 500:281, which is somewhere between 3:2 and 4:3

That sounds right. Is it possible to make that landscape res as the native for NPVR too? Emby doesn't support episode images right now, so landscape artwork from SD and FanArt.tv are both series artwork, right?

-1 for anything in NextPVR native being in 4x3 if a 16x9 choice is available.

+1 this -1. HD has been out for 15 years or so. I think that's enough time to have gotten all the software updated to display 16x9. Wink

Yeah, 16:9 is preferred for both SD and fanart.tv. If it can't find 16:9 for certain images, it could look other aspect ratios.
EDIT: Every program should have some landscape artwork, so it would fill some other aspect ratio if 16:9 not found.
