I haven't been able to tell from on here wether or not the 45 button Hauppauge is fully supported. I have seen the codes to make sure are in the .ini, and that config has a setting for it, and even that you can give GB full control of it. I only use the remote for GB, so don't care about the other programs. I installed the full set of apps with the 150, and so when I push the top green button I think it is, it loads the app that came with the card. I don't seem to be able to get it to load GB, even when I take the programs out from infront of GB in the .ini. Should I be able to? What steps do I take to make the remote work best with GB?

Thanks a ton

On the old forum I think there was a way of tying the green button to start gb-pvr but I cannot find it now. Have a look you may have more luck. Yes the 45 button is fully supported. I use one so I know it works OK. How I do it is leave gbpvr running (I start it from a shortcut in startup). You dont need to do much. Leave the other junk in there. I did try and cut it all out once but was a waste of time.

Thanks Darx. Are you using the "Use direct access to Hauppauge Remote" setting, and therefore not using the start haup IR to get the fullest use? I don't seem to be able to get consistant use of the remote, but that's most likely from not having the right combo of settings.

No I dont use that mode. I had a bit of bother with it early on and have stayed away from it. I prefer things to stand up on their own so-to-speak. I think this mode only works for the old "Silver" remote and its not supported in the latest 45 button jobie.

Wow, thanks for the heads up, I was leaning the wrong way then.

I use these settings in the Irremote.ini file to start and stop gb-pvr from the hauppauge remote (old style). I know I found them here, so I won't take any credit for making it work, I just can't remember who I copied it from Smile

Code:
[Default]
GRNPOWER={run(C:\Programmer\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe)}{sleep(5000)}{FindWnd(GBPVRWndClass,)}{fgnwnd()}
; starts GBPVR, waits 5 sec and brings it foreground (is already so), change path to your installation path!

and then
Code:
[GB-PVR]
GRNPOWER={alt}{f4}

Thanks nkh, I'll give that a go. You have 2 codes entered. There seems to be a lot of junk in that file. It looks like the first part goes after the first GB reference, and the second goes lower in the button call outs?

Just pop the first part in after [Default] in the file (and remove any other GRNPOWER= lines in the same section). The GRNPOWER={alt}{f4} part just goes into the gb-pvr section (probably at the end of the file) and it's just there so I can shut down gbpvr from the remote.

In case anyone else tries this and uses the default location to install GB-PVR, make sure your ini entry looks like this.

[Default]
GRNPOWER={run(C:\Progra~1\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.exe) }{sleep(5000)}{FindWnd(GBPVRWndClass,)}{fgnwnd()}
; starts GBPVR, waits 5 sec and brings it foreground (is already so), change path to your installation path!

I ran into an issue where the Hauppage Remote program didn't know how to properly handle the space character and therefore would not launch GB-PVR. My small edit should help in that scenario.
