I ripped a DVD with WinX, which created an ISO file.
When I try to play the ISO file, all I get is a black screen.
The file plays fine with VLC.

did you set an executable for an iso mounting program in Settings->DVD? The dialog mentions DaemonTools, but I think that's deprecated now because it comes with spyware these days. However you can use other ISO mounters, I'm not sure which ones work. I know newer versions of Windows can mount an ISO directly now, I don't think NextPVR supports that yet though.

Thanx for your response.

I tried a couple of ISO mounters without any success.
DVDFab acts the same as no tool; blank screen.
WinCDEmu gives "Unknown or corrupt image file" error.

Maybe there's someone else out there who's doing this on a regular basis and can give specific details?

perhaps try MagicISO.

I've not tested it myself but I know that you need to use an app that can automount an iso from a command line (as defined in the nextpvr config).

I use VirtualCloneDrive from Elaborate Bytes. Works pretty much like DaemonTools used to, better actually...

VirtualCloneDrive, that's the one I was trying to think of but I couldn't come up with it.

that all said, it would be nice if NextPVR supported the native windows ISO mounting now that it's being developed on Win10. sub.

VirtualCloneDrive got me started, but instead of playing the ISO in NPVR it opens up VLC and plays it from there.
Seems to work OK from a client though?

I'll report back if I figure it out.
Thanx.

that's the windows autoplay/autorun settings. as soon as a drive shows up containing a video DVD, windows does your default action which is to play it in VLC. you need to tell windows to do nothing when you insert a video DVD.
