Hi there,
I am aware of the 3.6.6 update containing some fixes for the mostly empty EPG after the overnight update runs but mine still happens with 3.6.6 unfortunately.
I have just moved to a new HTPC completely as part of upgrade but I have had this problem all the time previosly, and I am a little bit frustrated one can say, not giving up but i would like to resolve it as I like NextPVR otherwise.
Everything is fresh installed Windows 10 etc etc..
I will try to include all the information up front
Hardware:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85-HD3M
CPU: i7-4790
Video: Intel HD4600 (From CPU)
Memory: 2x2GB DDR1600 soon to be 2x4GB when the postie arrives..
HDD (OS): Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD
HDD (Recording - Currently while testing): Seagate 500GB 7200RPM
TV tuner 1: Pinnacle 3010X PCTV Dual DVB-T Hybrid Pro PCI-e installed using AverMedia H788 DVB-T driver (Old trick, found better PQ and channel switching speed)
TV tuner 2: Hauppauge WinTV HVR2200 Dual DVB-T PCI-e
Software:
Windows 10 Pro x64 with all up to date updates
NextPVR 3.6.6
Kodi 15.2 (But EPG problem is not in Kodi, it displays the same information as NextPVR)
Problem:
NextPVR wont do an update on most days to the EPG so it is empty till manually update from settings screen (works very reliably every time using the Update EPG button).
Now, I think the problem actually occurs more often then not.
02:54:00 AM - Automatic EPG update
10:44:16 AM - Manual Update EPG action in NPVR.log (same morning of the failed automatic EPG update)
Notes:
So everything is set up fresh, literally everything is as new.
The HTPC is set to sleep after 30 minutes and hybrid sleep is disabled, so it only sleeps in S3 otherwise I cant use the remote control to wake the PC.
Only one device is set up (out of 4 tuners available in the settings) for testing purposes, it is one of the AverMedia tuners.
What I can see?:
Looking at the logs the overnight update goes into ndigitalhost-27.log and the manual sticks to NPVR.log. Entries for automatic EPG update in NRecord.log too
Looking at the logs it looks like signal strength is low to 0% when it does the EPG update at night causing the problem?
I have had this problem dragging with me constantly and have been unable to shake it. I would love to get it working as intended.
All logs are attached from NextPVR log directory from the time the automated EPG update ran for relevance/inclusion if helpful.
Settings screenshots also attached to thread.
Please any help would be mostly appreciated.
