So, I started using zap2xml for my EPG data after mc2xml stopped working right with Microsoft's changes. It works pretty well, but I just discovered something when I was getting ready for the free preview weekend on Showtime.

My system gets both the east coast and the west coast feeds of the premium channels like Showtime. Unfortunately, Zap2it (and thus Zap2xml) give both channels the same text name, and the xml file created when loaded into NextPVR seems to only recognize one of them.

Here is an example of the channel id data from my xml file - channel 865 is Showtime East, 866 Showtime West:

Quote:

<display-name>865 ShowtimeHD</display-name>
<display-name>865</display-name>
<display-name>ShowtimeHD</display-name>

<display-name>866 ShowtimeHD</display-name>
<display-name>866</display-name>
<display-name>ShowtimeHD</display-name>

When I try to do a mapping of the channels, I only get one "ShowtimeHD" listing on the pulldown, which judging from data loaded is the second channel.

Is there anything I can do to make both channels show up in my listings?

Thanks.

A bit more info - I run NPVR on two different systems, my main computer where I do most of my recordings, and a PVR machine hooked up to my television which is mostly used for live tv watching, or watching of things recorded on the main computer through the Videos menu option.

The version running on my main computer is 3.5.7, and that's the one that I posted the EPG file for. The other system is running a bit further behind, version 3.2.9. I just looked, and on THAT system, the pulldown for the channel mapping shows "865 ShowtimeHD" for example, where the other system shows just "ShowtimeHD". So on that system, I am able to select the correct mapping for the two channels.

I run the same command on the two systems for updating the EPG, and they draw data from the same zap2it account, so the files should be pretty much the same, but just in case I'm attaching the one from the PVR system, which has the channel number included in the pulldown.

Thanks.

Try this patch. You can see the channel number in the dropdown.

Sub, are you updating the installer as you provide new patches or do we have to collect the patches along the way?

No, I haven't updated the installer. There hasn't been any significant patches. This and the couple of things I've provided patches for (since the last installer update) have been for minor things affecting a small number of people. It'll be fine for people to pick these changes up with the next release.
