I have not been able to get NextPVR changing channels by use of the windows MCE IR blaster that I have. I have tried IRSS that I found on these forums at: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...el-Changer , but I can't get it to operate properly. I'm hoping that someone here can help me find an IR blaster software that works the Windows MCE IR blaster that can be used with NextPVR.

I have also struggled with a blaster. Has this set-top-box ever worked with a blaster? I couldn't ever get my box to work and I am pretty sure it was the box and not the blaster or the software. Did you try ... http://www.lmgestion.net/@en-us/4/22/60/article.asp

Thanks for the link Graham I'll give that one a try and see how it works. I have just switched to NextPVR because it works with my Colossus video capture card by treating it as a TV tuner card. I was just using windows media center with an add-on from 1geek1tool in association with DVBLink (http://1geek1tool.com/colossus/) and it had inside of it a blaster software that worked really well so I am hoping that something like that exists outside of that program. I have recently tried contacting them to see if that part of the program could be used by me along with NextPVR but they have not responded. They essentially went out of business several years ago just after I started using their program with the Hauppauge HDPVR but I've since replaced that with the internal Colossus card and ever since then they have been out of business but I have continued to use their software. There website is still there and they said they were going to leave the program active for several years but I've decided to go with NextPVR because of the native Colossus support and I want something working outside of media center so I can update to windows 10 without sacrificing a media center program capable of live TV. But I have been stuck trying to find a reliable IR blaster program like what exists in the 1geek1tool software. I still have the software and it's still available from their website so I've been wondering if I can set it up again and use it's executable file in NextPVR. I think it may be worth a try because there IR blaster software worked as well as Media Center. What I have been thinking is that it must create an .exe file that could be used in NextPVR and it doesn't really matter that their virtual tuners will also be installed I should be able to use NextPVR still.

It is my understanding that Hauppauge distribute haupblast.exe and blastcfg.exe with some of their products.

Yeah, the Hauppauge software should come with blastcfg.exe, which allows you to configure your Colossus IR blaster for the connected set top box. You can then use haupblast.exe from the NextPVR software to call the Hauppauge blaster software.

Thanks sub and Graham I do have those .exe files but the Hauppauge IR blaster does not work very well and is functionally useless. I really need a way to make the msMCE ir blaster work since that one works very well. I'm going to try Graham's suggestion to see if that will make a usable .exe file for NextPVR, thanks for the suggestions.

Try MCEir driver as well:

I have 2 2250 Hauppauge but could never get the IR which plugs into the hauppauge cards to work. So I purchased a USB IR and it came with a remote and NextPvr works very well.

I think the key is to purchase an IR which is MCE certified.

Which service are you capturing? There might be a network based channel changer that would work more reliably.
