Have a message you previously typed pop up in a panel on the main menu at a set time/date:

"friends birthday-call him"
"go get kids"
etc.

If it had a snooze as well that would be awesome! If it was possible to tie this in to some of the calendar programs out there, even better, but I'd be content with having to type in my own reminders.

Thanks!

Wouldn't the PIM plugin from Wiki do this?
You can never have enough tuners!
Pentium Quad / 4Gb Dual Channel RAM / XPSP3 / 2 x PVR-500, PVR-250 / GB-PVR

I thought you had to actively go in there and check stuff with PIM, i.e. no reminders?

I posted something similar to this a while back concerning an auto-tune/reminder system. In theory, I think it would be simple to add, just use the recording service polling the DB for a different type of record. Instead of it trigging something to record, it could simply post a message in the area that says "Recording Soon:" thing.

I sync My outlook to Yahoo and Yahoo send reminders to my phone. I always have my phone but I don't always watch tv.

I think you guys are not quite getting what I'm suggesting... I'm not saying this is for your defacto reminder system, which for me is my PC at work + my cell phone (which is off when I'm at home due to bad reception), just that it would be handy on Friday night when you sit down to watch Battlestar Galactica that you need to go shopping for a birthday card this weekend... I don't need it to provide my hourly schedule, just the small things that turn out big if you miss them Wink

Anyone remember the Simpsons episode where he forgets their anniversary? Big Grin

Great idea!

I can't wait until my wife finds out how to use this "feature": "Honey take out the trash", "Honey fix the faucet", "Honey cut the grass", "Honey ...." :-)

It can probably be added to the pim quite easily. If enought people want it or anyone wants to do it.
