Not that I used their software just an FYI for anyone who may have done...

good info, thanks.
Luckily enough for me, 3 months ago I decided not to renew my AnyDVD HD subscription but instead to purchase Cyberlink PowerDVD (launched from within NextPVR) as it seemed like the best way to play Bluray disks.
(I have no interest in ripping disks).

Horrible news Sad

I've been using AnyDVD since the dawn of my Media PC days; things won't be quite the same without it around. What a difference it made being able to play DVDs without having to sit through forced copyright messages or trailers. When I first got blu-ray, my setup wasn't HDCP compatible, but it didn't matter with AnyDVD. NextPVR can play back discs with AnyDVD running in the background, and although every disc I own is always ripped, it was always AnyDVD that allowed me to do that. It's particularly annoying as my upgrade to Windows 10 broke TMT3 (old, but still worked fine on Windows 7 *because* of AnyDVD) and my only way going forward of playing the full disc (for extras etc) will be via the xbox.

I just hope there's still an option for ripping discs (eg MakeMKV) - I really couldn't go back to watching movies any other way. Picture and sound aside, blu-ray was a step backwards from DVD...you couldn't resume 99% of discs, the menus were slow, the players always needed updates, the online stuff was broken, the discs are more susceptible to scratches, the 'prohibited user operations' seemed to be everywhere. Grrrrr.

I'll miss Slysoft's other stuff as well, like ReClock.

I didn't have much enthusiasm for 4K blu-ray anyway, but it's pretty much gone right out the window now if there's no hope for media PC playback. I don't care what the legal situation is. My disc; bought and paid for, therefore its contents are mine to do whatever I want with!

I, too, will miss, SlySoft AnyDVD. Sad

I took full advantage of AnyDVD's ripping features because there are numerous occasions where something will happen that reminds me of a particular scene in a movie I bought. Having the .ISOs online and ready, I can bring up the scene almost immediately and enjoy.

I'm now curious as to how long it will be before I can no longer rip a blu-ray to a .ISO.

RIP SlySoft.

SlySoft is good..although it's gone but there are some service left right? I use Sly and WF free dvd ripper both, they all my favorite..by the way, I don't like winx...it always made me confused with some cartoon.
