Repost from Kodi Forums concerning recordings refresh on Kodi v16. Apparently there may be others.

R post not intended for faster action, just figured it may be helpful on both boards.

Sub it's back again. Last three days straight. Nothing that I can see that would hold it up like you mentioned. Checked antivirus scan folders, or anything that may interrupt the process. takes a kodi restart to refresh.

V16, Windows 10, AMD A107850, 16g of ram.

The backend is just fine, no issues. All recordings ready to go, so it seems like it's the Kodi interface.

What do you need me to post, certain portion of kodi log, Or do you need a full log? Let me know.

thanks! no crisis mode here, so take time if need be. I enabled logging as soon as I saw your post, which was fortunate as its in the middle of the scheduled recording time. Its got about 15 minutes to go, so soon after that I will get the logs posted.

Kodi will sit until recording is done, and I will then go direct to recordings and shut down.

As requested. I truncated the KODI log by getting rid of the video scan and IMDB scans for the most part.

But I will be dipped. Of course the second time in a row that I bring this up, the refresh worked. But for the last few days no go.

Method:
started Kodi debug mid recording.
waited until notification on recording stop.
went to live recordings.
shutdown.

the only difference from tonight, is that Kodi was not full screen through the process. Don't know if that may be a causal factor.

or because I had to restart KODI during the recording, it caught the refresh?

There is another recording that just started that I forgot about. I will see if that catches as well, and report later.

I can try again tomorrow and try and reproduce results, or any other method you may suggest.

Post the logs when you next reproduce it and I'll take a look.

The recording I mentioned did show up in refresh. Will try again tonight and see if different results. Weird.

Update: tonight news did not refresh, but I missed the window for logging. Will try and get the logs tomorrow. I considered simply grabbing a random tv show - but I want to keep the method as it has been.

Theory:

Tonights news did have the refresh (but missed logging again, fffft).

But, it also had last nights episode already populated.

So would it be possible that if a folder is in place with an episode, it catches future episodes and refreshes normally. But if a new folder with a new episode is created it may not be refreshing correctly?

I deleted all episodes, and will try and catch logging again tomorrow and see if the kodi front end populates the new show.

ok.

caught the logs. restarted kodi 17:11 CMT. Recording should have taken about 1 minute prior to 17:30, ended approx 18:02.

18:09ish went to recordings Kodi front end. No refresh. Tried manual refresh from the side bar (Nebula). nothing. Repeated a couple of times, and shut down.

Edited the log to reduce size, and leave relevant data.

According to those logs, Kodi reloaded the recording list at 18:10.

It can take 10 minutes or so to update the recording list. If you really did check at 18:09, then it sounds like you checked just before it updated the list
