No sound new setup

Win 7 PC/ Collossus video device
Has sound for everything else music, movies etc

Installed N-PVR 3.6.6 I can see video but it states on the N-PVR screen " missing audio- you don't have aac decoder selected"

You can fix this on decoder- settings page.

Selected aac in settings page, but same message appears when starting live tv.

I have not looked at your logs, but using deductive powers, I think you need to add an audio decoder. For "normal" US TV I'd recommend AC3Filter; you would need to select this for MPEG1 and AC3 audio. Just search on AC3 Filter and download and install.

Since NPVR mentions aac, this might mean you're on a cable system that uses this audio encoding. Maybe try the LAV audio decoder for this.

Right, Colossus. I think that produces h264 video and aac audio. I'm surprised you didn't get a decoder from Hauppauge. Anyway, skip the AC3Filter and just get the LAV audio. Don't use the LAV video decoder though, as it does not play well with NPVR.

mikeh49--Thanks for the help. I'm using DirecTV box with the Collossus. Worked fine using WinTV8.
I tried your suggestion and finally got sound.
