Comskip

I downloaded Comskip to my PC but it doesn't show up when watching recorded videos on my PC monitor. It shows up in the directory (all 3 files), but the screen looks the same as before. Do I need to run the videos through something like MediaMVP to get Comskip, or should it be appearing on my PC monitor?

Make sure comskip is in your pvr directory (normally c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr)
The file itself doesn't appear anywhere else, and is ran automatically. To use it, just watch a recording, and hit your play button when commercials come on. If you look at a recording after it has been recorded with comskip there will be a text file named the same as the recording and gbpvr uses that to skip the commercial spots.

If it is creating the .tx and the .log, you should be good. Check the .txt file, it should have several lines with increasing numbers in the thousands. Those are the start and end frame of calculated commercial breaks.

When watching a show, hit the blue button to show the progress bar. You should see some blank areas, those are the commercial areas. Hit the play button when in those areas, and it will go right to the next show area. If a commercial starts, and I hit play, and it doesn't skip, I hit the skip forward (1 minute), then play. That works about %90 of the time, and I'm back to the show in less than 5 seconds.
