Decoders Disabled

I just reinstalled windows 10 fresh and also fresh install Next PVR.

I have installed my device but I am not able to select MPEG2 or HEVC Video decoder in the Decoders tab?

The default option for both is 'Disabled' and there is no options available when i select the drop down box?

I have tried installing various different decoders but the MPEG2 or HEVC Video decoder options remain 'Disabled'?

NextPVR asks Windows to provide a list of decoders that Windows has recongnised as installed and available to play Mpge2 and other video types. The dropdown lists in NextPVR are populated with the decoders known to Windows.

The most likely explanation for empty lists in NextPVR is that something has gone haywire with the installation of decoders. My stock advice regarding decoders is to use the SAF installer that will install decoders that are known to work with NextPVR. Send a forum private message to Hoborg asking for the "unlocked" version of SAF that will give you the "best" decoders ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post414049

No haywire, fresh Win10 doesn't have any default mpeg2video or hevc decoders.

Thanks for the advice. I have messaged Hoborg requesting the unlocked SAF Decoders.

Ill update the thread once received and installed.

After installing the SAF decoders from Hoborg (thank you), I now have options for decoders for all the items.

Problem is now, NEXT PVR works ok after first open and go to live tv.

But after that if I go to guide and watch channels NEXT PVR FREEZES?

Also if I leave live tv, then come back to NEXT PVR freezes again?

Also, after the freeze in NEXT PVR, my PC wont actually shut down after I shutdown. The screen goes black but the PC keeps running, NEXT PVR wont let it shut down?

This is usually sign that the driver is misbehaving, and it's stuck inside a driver call.

Is this capture device working well in any other TV app?

I havent tried it with another app.

Ill look for an app to try, what do you recommend I try?

The software that is usually supplied with the tuner is a good start! It may not be that good but can prove if the tuner is working.

Im using sony play tv box with elgato eye tv diversity capture driver 3.15.0.0.

Its worked ok previously in the past prior to the windows reinstall
