Live TV not working on Kodi 16.1

I downloaded NextPVR yesterday and installed in on a Windows 7 machine which already had Kodi 16.1 installed. I configured the NextPVR add-in with the Hostname (127.0.0.1) and port (8866), then enabled the add-on and exited Kodi. When I then restarted Kodi and opened the TV menu I could see the channels and the EPG, but whenever I tried to stream a channel, either from the Guide or from the Channel List, it would just hang with a "Working..." message. In the end I need to kill the Kodi process.

My hardware is an AMD processor and Blackgold BGT3620 DVB-T2 card. I have successfully recorded programs using the NextPVR web interface, so NextPVR seems to be hooked up to the tuner correctly.

Any ideas for how to diagnose this?

If you can enable debug logging in Kodi, then reproduce the problem and post the kodi.log and the NextPVR logs, I'll see if anything stands out.

Can you watch live tv in NextPVR itself? You don't explicitly say that above. You'll need to be able to do that before even thinking about Kodi.

Good question (sorry I'm new to NextPVR). So when I tried to open a live stream in NextPVR I got an error saying that the C:\temp folder didn't exist (which it didn't). I then tried again, and got audio but no video.

Yeah, I suspected your c:\temp directory didn't exist, explaining why it didn't work in Kodi. The missing video will come down to the video decoder you've got selected. You can retry it in Kodi now that you've created the directory and at least getting audio.

Try restarting Kodi. I'm sure it'll show up again.

OK now I'm making some progress. Restarting Kodi didn't bring the TV menu option back, but disabling then re-enabling the NextPVR client add-in did. I can now stream TV channels, but have 2 more issues:
- how do I view a channel full-screen, when I have selected it from the channel list?
- why am I only seeing channels 1-99 in Kodi (and hence none of the HD channels)?

I'm not really a Kodi user, so can't tell you much about driving the Kodi user interface, and particularly since they've changed it in the Kodi 17 alpha I'm running.
