Does the NextPVR service transcode live tv streams to a more efficient codec than MPEG2 such as H264? I have a hdhomerun prime and an android tv that is struggling to stream MPEG2 because of slow wifi, so I would like to use a service like NextPVR to transcode that stream to H264. Please let me know... thanks!

No - it generally sends the native broadcast format to the clients (NextPVR client installs, or Kodi), since having to transcode typically means slower channel change times etc.
The only real exceptions are if you're using the iOS app or web app, then it sends H.264. I think the XNEWA addon for Kodi can also be configured to use H.264.

Yes if you use Kodi on Android, the latest test version of x-newa http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...-0-Alpha-2 uses the NextPVR web transcoding engine. If you like the NextPVR UI use the web client in x-newa.
