3.8.3 and "Tuner no longer available" in Kodi

Hello,

I use NPVR with Kodi for many years now with no problems and I have a issue since the last update to 3.8.3 I made today (from 3.7.7).

My setup is:
- NPVR installed on my server (Windows 8.1)
- Kodi installed on my HTPC (Windows 7)
- Connected by Ethernet

Since the 3.8.3 update, I get the message "No tuner longer available" in Kodi few seconds after launch live TV. The image freezes soon after.

On my server, NPVR running properly, including live TV.
The EPG works in Kodi.

I tested with Kodi 15 and 16: same problem.

Note:
- I launched the update from the setting menu of NPVR;
- if I want to access to the web interface of NPVR (http://192.168.1.2:8866/), I get this screen:

It looks like your install didn't upgrade all the components. I'd run the 'Stop NPVR Service' shortcut, download and run the installer again, then try again.

I ran the installer and it works.

Just 2 problems:

- The modern UI is empty from a remote access (http://192.168.1.2:8866/modern/index.html). It's ok from local access (http://localhost:8866/modern/index.html).





- some random "glitches" in audio sometimes... (like this post: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ss-network)
I will confirm that this problem repeats and I will open another thread.

Without doing anything, that works now on remote acces.

Just "Available disk space" stay empty on remote and local access. And some random glitches in audio sometimes...

I have the same or similar problem with NextPVR 3.8.3 and "Tuner no longer available" with KODI 17 beta 3.

Then, KODI live TV freezes and sometimes the "Tuner no longer available" message is displayed (and sometimes not). The following relevant events are recorded in the KODI log at this time.

What does "The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid" mean in the NextPVR web log? I think if I prevent that, then I can avoid the "Tuner no longer available" condition.

It is not the same problem. The tuner not available message happens to be generic as it really mean any http problem. Personally, I'd like to see all you logs before answering your question but my first thought is you have a problem on the drive that needs attention.

That either looks like your drive is failing, or it's a removable drive that was disconnected or similar. ie, some sort of file system failure. It's unlikely NextPVR would have survived this a critical error like this.

That either looks like your drive is failing, or it's a removable drive that was disconnected or similar.

Can you say which drive is failing or is there a way to find out? Would it be the drive where the live TV buffer directory is located?

It's unlikely NextPVR would have survived this a critical error like this.

I think NextPVR survived this error - the web log continued after the error and I was able to restart the live TV in KODI (without restarting NextPVR).
