Since I have moved out of cable-tv range I have bought a TBS 5520 DVB-S/S2 USB tuner, downloaded the latest driver for Win-10 Pro 64bit and connected the cable from the dish. So far so good, NextPVR see the tuner, I select THOR-7 satellite in the setup but soon after clicking Scan my computer dies with BSOD 1, APC INDEX MISMATCH This was in a slightly older version of npvr. I noticed some SQL errors in the log so I updated to the newet release of npvr. Now it says that it cannot locate the BDA when I try to scan for channels. Where to go from here?

If you're getting a BSOD, start looking for a different version of the drivers for this device and cross your fingers you'll find a better one.

I'm not getting a BSOD with the newest version of npvr, just "unable to locate BDA....". There is only one driver at TBS website.

Post the logs, and I'll see if anything obvious stands out.

Maybe also post the output of filtercheck.exe

Strange, I did upload the log in the first post, but nothing attached. I'll try again.

In the logs, it looks like the device is refusing to hook up to the Microsoft Network Provider (which is a component used for doing tuner). I'm not really sure what to suggest to fix this.

I tried installing DvbDream but it does not show me a list of satellites when I set the device in DVB-S/S2 mode... Does that indicate that something is wrong with the tuner itself?

If you're getting a BSOD, it'll definitely be some driver issue, or hardware instability (like flaky memory). ie, there isn't going to be a NextPVR setting which is going to fix this.
