Hi, I am using NextPVR as a remote TV recording system which runs on my server and then Plex picks up the recordings. I have a HDHomeRun tuner and I have several series recodings set up.

I have read that I can change the recording priority by using the windows client, but I'd need a remote control to use forward and backward buttons? With it being on a server, and accessed remotely, I cant' do this.
Is it possible for me to change the recording priorities on the web client somehow; or if not can I change them on the NextPVR program using RDP, without the need to use a remote control?

Also, in Windows Media Centre and there is a conflicting recording, it is listed and I can click on it, then select which program I want to record at that time - is there a way to do that via NextPVR?

If there is nothing built in to do this, can I do it using the API somehow if I set up my own web client to talk to it? I can't find much documentation on it to help me?

Thanks in advance Smile

You can do both of these in the NextPVR desktop client. The web front end is still very new, so doesn't this type of functionality yet, but will probably get it in the future.

The old NEWA 'classic' web may have some of this functionality, but I've not really used it, so I'm not sure.

Unfortunately the web API doesn't current support resolving conflicts or changing the priority, so not easy to roll these features yourself. This would be added to the API when the web front end is updated to include these functions.

Thanks, but how would I do that in the client? I haven't managed to work it out yet. The wiki said I need to use the forward and back keys, which I assume would be on a remote control, which I don't have?

Also, how can I access the NEWA interface?

Sorry if this is really simple, I'm very new to it! Tongue

See the Keyboard Reference page on the wiki...

Assuming you don't want to change the default to Classic (NEWA) try http://ip:8866/Guide2.aspx It doesn't provide any priority changing though.

Priority changing is a tedious bubble sort hopefully you don't have a lot to change. If you do you might be better off manualling update the priority row values in the npvr.db3 database recurring_recording table with a sqlite editor. Remember to keep them unique.

Thanks! At least I can sort them out over RDP now!
I did try to use the recording resolver but it didn't seem to work as it didn't ask me which show to record - maybe it's just a bug just for me.

Thanks, It doesn't have the priority bit, but I do love all the extra information and settings I can change in it - I look forward to that comming out in the new web interface soon. Smile

I think I've worked out the client bit so I'll make do with that for now - but that could be useful to know in the future when I get a lot of them Smile
