Microsoft MS DTV-DVD no longer works for me

i noticed there were updates overnight and now, coincidentally, using the Microsoft MS DTV-DVD that I went back to using a while ago because it's the best for me, no longer works. Anyone else having this problem?
Swapping to elecard mpeg2 decoder works but isn't as good a picture.

Yes, I noticed exactly the same thing. Hopefully they fix it.

It's not related to NextPVR because I see the same problem with other software.

It seems to give a nasty crash when you try to hook it up with anything (like LAV Splitter Source etc). It does still work in WMP, but I can't get it to work in anything else.

Yes looks like HDHR have same problem with the update https://forum.silicondust.com/forum/view...19&t=64482 Given that the MS DVD app will crash too that might mean it is taken seriously. I hope so since I see I have this update pending, it is a matter of time for me too.

Ok, I've marked this as sticky.

It seems to die in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64\CompPkgSup.dll"

I don't really like uninstalling Windows updates, but uninstalling KB4013429 did get it working again.

I'll keep an eye on that silicondust thread so I know when it's fix or other workaround found.

of course...now it looks like Windows is reinstalling that update.

I saw that NYPlayer reinstalled the update and it worked again. Perhaps there is a silent patch at MS The bad comppkgsup is 10.0.14393.953 I will see if I get a new one on my update.

Yeah, I saw that post too. Hopefully! My install hasn't actually reinstalled it yet, but when it complete it'll be interesting to check this out.

Damn...back to crashing now that KB4013429 has reinstalled. Sigh...
