OK Newby here WIN TV4 works but Next PVR does not

I can watch multiple windows of TV in WINTV v8. NextPVR does not work.

Getting error "Unable to Communicate with Recording Services."
Checked Windows firewall for blocked apps. Set NextPVR, NRecord, NDigital Host to allowed public and private.

the nrecord log says you stopped the recording service at 2:14pm. All your NPVR logs are from 3omething PM. so yes, it follows that npvr would be unable to communicate with the recording service, since it was stopped.

start your recording service and try again.

So I see the log for the recording services stopping at 2:14. I didn't ever stop them on purpose. I see MVPManager but I have no app or service named MVPManager.

Do you have any idea how to start it? Is it in my services? I see WebServices and restarted it with no success. I dont have a service named MVP(anything).

What app would be my recording service?

It should be called "NRecord.exe" and if you look in the program group for NextPVR, there should be an option to start or restart the recording service.

Thanks - that worked. I had to start the service manually. Tried to just run the NRecord.exe program but it told me to use Windows Services. Typed Service in the Win 10 search and a Start NPVR Service popped into the options.

It is also available in the Windows Component Services app, where I can choose to start or stop it.

All good now. (Trying to add enough detail, so people can find the error in the future.)
