I am a NextPVR newbie. I have been using Emby & ServerWMC, and now wish to try the NextPVR solution.
System is Windows 7, freshly built.
Emby - v 3.2.17
NPVR - v3.9.2

NextPVR app (server) is fine. Talks to Hauppauge tuners - shows EPG, plays TV and records.
Emby uses NextPvr plugin 3.0.6143.20454

NPVR - clients settings:
Enable Web Server = YES
Web Server Port = 8866
Web Interface = Modern.
Access PIN = 0000

Emby NPVR plugin
URL: http://localhost:8866
NPVR Pin: 0000

Emby shows no EPG, recordings

Manual connection via web server to http://localhost:8866
"localhost refused to connect"

It would appear that 8866 is not listening ??
Logs show emby & npvr restart - then emby tries to show the EPG

It's failing to start the web server:
Quote:2017-05-24 16:12:01.306 [ERROR][4] Unexpected error starting web server:

Can you check you have a 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files' directory?

Do you also have IIS on this machine?

a) Yes, the directory is present
b) No IIS, not that I installed or know of.

You should upload all the NextPVR logs, you didn't include the relevant logs for the web server. Also instead of localhost:8866 from the browser maybe try [::1]:8866 with ipv6 notation that is how is is being used with emby

My steps as follows.
- Stop Emby Server
- Stop NPVR.exe
- Stop NPVR Record service
- Remove all log files
- Restart NPVR Record service
- Restart NPVR.exe
- Restart Emby Server

- Browse EPG in NPVR.exe
- Watch a bit of TV
- Stop watching TV

- Fire up emby localhost:8096
- Request EPG listing (no list displayed)

- Access http://[::1]:8866/public/Util/NPVR/Client/Instantiate in browser
(error response: Make sure the web address http://[::1]:8866 is correct)

ALL logs attached (as before)

Thanks sorry I was looking for something in the console log, but in any case it triggered my memory of this message https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.ph...post508687

First part of this problem identified. I am using McAfee VirusScan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise 8.8 (current as of 23rd May)

If I disable "On-Access Scanner",
then http://localhost:8866/public/Util/NPVR/C...nstantiate returns ...

{"clientKeys":{"sid":"1d44a3f2d6f848a1935ad1ebf7556a40","salt":"2daff9af-4794-45f6-ab09-5a44f52f8ac5"}}

... and http://localhost:8866 shows the 'modern' interface.

On-Access scanner has multiple properties, but I cannot identify which of these causes the problem. It only works if I disable all of them.

However, even with this feature disabled, Emby does not list EPG or channels.
(I'm not prepared to run with the scanner disabled).

It isn't really scanning the traffic because your log message indicates that something is stopping the web server from starting. Look for something that will allow the web server to start on a non standard port.

I have confirmed that this is purely a Virus Scanner issue. With the VS disabled all works fine. Access via NPVR, Web port 8866 and via Emby all work as expected. With the VS enabled, none of them work. I'm sure I'm not the only user with this combination. I will start hassling McAfee and will let you know if a solution is offered. If you find one, please let me know. Thanks for your assistance.
