npvr refuses to record 'con man'

This is the third time i've tried to record 'con man', little 15 minute shows of the guys from Serenity movie spoof.
it always starts recording, i see prime's tuner working, and when i go to play file, it appears nowhere like it never recorded!?
odd messages in logs:

p: path is a regular hard drive, working fine..

there's another recording coming up tomorrow, so i deleted all con mans from 'recently deleted' list just in case..
tho i notice there's entries in there for episodes i haven't even seen available, much less recorded and deleted?

Weird. What filesystem is on the P: drive?

I know CON is a reserved word, so you can't have a directory called CON, but "Con Man" should be ok, and I can manually create a directory of this name. It's got to be somehow related to this.

I thought the same thing about con, but the problem seems to be with con.man probably because of filename.extension

Yeah, it looks like I can't create a file with the name con.anything.

I've put a fix in for the next build, which will correct this and other reserved words.

aha...yea, it created the dir fine [con man] but yep, no file..

i guess turning off the periods may fix it, but that would weird out my other filenames..

Oh thank god. I'm not going crazy. I recorded all the Con Man episodes awhile back (tried anyway), and none of them showed up. I just figured there was a source error (for me that channel is on an analog encoder which can be finicky) and moved on.

hmmm,well kinda...recording still doesn't work from normal places, but if i view the channel the hit record it does work!
it does record a file..but it's using old style naming, no periods..
updated file didn't seem to work, i stopped rec service and everything...
T:\tv\Con Man_20171214_03520400.ts is filename on tv buffer dir. it's there and plays..

I tried a different drive to regular record this time and same thing, no file, but dir gets made..

not sure if the livetv/record worked before, i never tried it..but can't really schedule that way..
it probably did because it's not using the converted filename, using old style name..


ok, it deleted the tv buffer file after it was finished!? whaaa
