Is it possible for two instances of NPVR on the same network to share recordings? I would consolidate to one instance if wifi were not an issue. One of my hdhomerun primes is connected directly to a PC on wifi. The rest of my network is wired.

I've pointed both instances at the same directory for recordings but one instance does not display recordings from the other instance. I've also experimented with exporting and importing recordings through the NPVR Settings interface. I manually added a recording from one instance to another where is would display in the NPVR application but it would not display in Kodi as a recording.

Wouldn't you have the same wifi problem sharing recordings?

Possibly. I'm connect anywhere between 300-600Mbps on 802.11ac.

Even with this speed, WMC has always been glitchy.

Why do you have 2 different pcs acting as a server
Better to have 1 server and many clients.

Is there a reason you have it this way?

Move the hd homerun wifi onto wired network and do all recording on that machine.
Or you could try powerline network adapters i find these way better than wifi when you cant use wired.
Wifi is rubbish for media playback/recording as its not full duplex.

Npvr runs a database so it will only show recordings setup on that server.

To expand on that ... NextPVR is two components ... a recording service runs constantly and connects to tuners and creates recordings ... the client software is the component that you see and use to view the EPG, to set recordings and to watch recordings.

Both components connect to the same database ... it is data from the database that you see when you look at the Recordings list in NextPVR ... the recording service always connects to the database on the local machine (at C:\User\Public\NPVR) and this cannot be changed ... the client component can be configured to connect to a database on another machine at NextPVR Settings --> Devices

Other clients are available ... Kodi appears to be popular.
