Hi Sub,

After looking over some of my logs to troubleshoot a problem with X-Newa, Martin suggested that my server may be taking excessively long to start playback and that there were some unusual log messages.

Please could you take a look at the logs and tell me if you see anything wrong?

I'm running NPVR 4.04 on Windows 10 64 bit, and the tuner in question is a TBS 6284 quad DVB-T2.

How long is it taking?

Is it just as slow within NextPVR itself?

Hi,

Yest it's slow from within NPVR on the server. I just timed it, and from pressing play in TV Listings, it took 7 seconds for playback to start (although I think it's sometimes a little faster).

There is an instence of me doing this in those logs.

It looks like this device is relatively slow. These two log messages show are around NextPVR asking the driver to tune the new frequency:
Quote:2017-11-02 17:12:44.926 [DEBUG][114] DigitalRecorderDVBT::Tune@5
2017-11-02 17:12:47.281 [DEBUG][114] DigitalRecorderDVBT::Tune@post
Most of my Hauppauge devices will do this this in a 100 or so milliseconds. This device seems to take a few seconds for this. It'll take a bit longer than this before the signal is fully locked and delivering data.

Are you seeing the device being significantly quicker under any other Windows software? Could just be a slow device.

I did some googling and I did find some posts in Mediaportal forums about the TBS 6284 being slow.

I also have a WinTV 885, DVB-S2. When I change the configuration so that tuner is used, playback takes even longer to start - about 9 seconds. So maybe there is a problem with my setup, or is that card just old?

I've uploaded some logs of starting playback with that card.
