Hi all, I set the EPG to update at 0300 in nextPVR, but I notice the epg.xml file in the scripts folder hasn't been updated in a while (3 days). The batch file/command should work since I used the same file to generate the epg.xml file in the first place. I attached logs if someone can take a look to see what could be going on. Thank you.

I can see in your logs that it ran C:\Users\Public\NPVR\Scripts\UpdateEPG.bat last night at 3:01 just prior to reading the epg.xml file. If your epg.xml file hasn't been updated, then it sounds like whatever you've put in UpdateEPG.bat is not correct.

An obvious mistake that several people have made, is assuming what the current directory is. When it's run from the recording service, the current directory is c:\windows\system32 or something like that. You might find you need to put explicit paths to any utilities you're running, or explicitly do a "cd xxxxx" at the start of your batch file.

The updateepg.bat runs in the System user account and may be running in an unexpected folder. It is recommended to specify full folder path names in the batch file.

To add to what Graham said if you are using zap2xml there are additional problems using the system acccount and lots of posts on this forum have been made on how to deal with this if you search. To save a lot of work I recommend paying for Schedules Direct and using the built in support it is well worth it.

Okay, I saw the thread for zap2xml with people having issues. I'll try adding a change directory line to the batch file and see what happens tomorrow. Otherwise I will try running the batch file as a scheduled task. I'm not a heavy TV watcher so I can live with these issues at the expense of convenience. Smile

Adding the change directory line fixed it. Thank you for helping!
