NPVR Leia Nightly (20180218)

Hi,

Have been running NPVR for a few years now, so thanks very much for providing this

To start with, it's all running perfectly in 17.6 with 4.0.4 for months, and am looking to run an alpha version of Kodi 18 so I can make use of one of the Amazon VOD add-on.

In preparation for this, I've updated NPVR to 4.0.5. This works just fine in Kodi 17.6


However, in Kodi 18 (20180218 nightly), when I try to tune to a channel, I get one of two things happening:

1) The channel plays, but there is no sound
2) If I stop and play the same channel, I get a "Tuner not found" message.


I've run the above tests with a completely fresh install of Kodi 18, where the only thing I've done is configure/enable NPVR so I don't believe there are any other add-ons interfering.

I've (hopefully) attached my Kodi log file, in case it helps at all.

You should also attach all of your NextPVR logs corresponding to the same time as the Kodi log. (You can go into the NextPVR Settings and use the "Zip my log files for me..." button to create a .zip file with all of the appropriate log files on the server.

I realised I was using the 64 bit version of Kodi, so have also tried the 32 bit.

Same issue(s).

However - the lack of sound appears to be when there is a 5.1 audio stream and/or UK HD channels - standard definition channels with 2.0 audio are working OK.

The "No tuner" is repeatable if the same channel is selected after stopping it - selecting any other channel, stopping that, and then re-selecting the first channel seems to work OK.

These are both sounding like bugs in Kodi, rather than the NextPVR addon, which hasn't changed in a long time. It'll likely be resolved in a later Leia build.

Thanks for the response, sub. The audio issue does appear to be an issue within Kodi.


I think I've tracked down where the re-tuning issue has been introduced - this commit

So it seems m_iLiveStreamUID isn't being reset to 0 when Stopping playback? Are you responsible for the Kodi add-on, or do I need to raise this over there?

Basically while sub started the plugin Kodi team developers havr been doing the builds to keep it running since 2016. Not sure if that commit is the problem since I am pretty sure I have run LiveTV since then.

Edit I just did a test with the 0219 nightly and Leia worked ok but then I thought I'd turn on timeshifting (I have this off because of too many problems withe the implementation) and it hangs.
