mp4 videos not playing

I have a new problem that mp4 video files will no longer play. Npvr freezes when I play a file and I must kill the npvr process. I have tried all of the decoders. What am I missing? Did a windows update break something?

I believe the decoder settings are just for .TS files and that NPVR just lets windows use its default decoder for non .TS files so I suspect a problem with whatever decoder windows is trying to use. Perhaps repeat in windowed mode to see if something pops up in the system tray. Else you might want to install LAV audio/video decoder and let it configure itself for playback.

I do have LAV decoder set for H.264 video decoder, and the mp4 files play fine in windows. Logs are attached.

OK, I just switched the video renderer from EVR to VMR9 and that resolved it.
