dinsal Wrote:Hi,

Added the new dll and this is the netpush log.

Error seems to be "FillBuffer taking too long...", starts to happen after about 15 seconds in this log file. My first try today was ok for almost 50 seconds so its seems very random but generally happens before 20 seconds

Thanks for you help
With that build, and hls streams, you can set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\NPVR\LogM3U8=1 (DWORD), then try watching a stream. You'd need to supply the normal NextPVR logs, and the c:\temp\segments.txt.

This segments.txt contains urls that could show iptv provider urls, so it's important this file isn't posted publicly. Probably best to zip up all those files, and PM me where to get it.

It's also really important to set these special LogXxxxx registry settings back to zero, or delete the registry setting after you've finished a run to capture logs, because they create huge files, and can cause issue on second attempts etc if left on.

I didn't expect my initial questions to get a bit "heated". I just wanted to know if there was something odd happening and if there was a setting I could change to improve it....as I had noted like another user here that VLC and nPVR must do it differently.

Im sorry im still away from my system so cant post any TS recordings yet.

I for one DO use NPVR and would be willing to pay for it. I use both the traditional tuners and the newer iptv. I use it alongside Emby to re-stream in my home to any room and use the recording functions too. I use Emby so I can see what I have at home whilst im away from home, ie watch recordings made with NPVR, or channels that are geo locked (which I am entitled to watch as I pay for them - not 100% sure whether im technically allowed when in another country). I certainly do NOT re-share.

I also thought it was a caching or buffering issue, now i understand that its probably a connection issue too (keep alive and/or handshake), this is just a thought but would adding a periodic pinging to the connection help keep it alive? or would there be a better user agent string to use in the header for the connection? Again not my field of expertise but i understand that this does affect things.

This is irrelevant to the initial post, but 2 improvements to NPVR would be add new channels to the next available empty channel numbers (a checkbox option would be good) and another thats probably more complicated to automate, auto upate m3u channels from url.
Duplicate channel numbers are a pain to one of my boxes which uses kodi and Next PVR Client to pull the channels and the guide. That crashes when duplicate channel numbers exist (merged channels are fine though). I would just use npvr if it was available as server and client (on android), but what I use works fine.

The only issue i have is the repeating parts of a ts stream.

I just wanted to say thanks for this program its has made a big difference to me and how I watch tv - I appreciate it.

Thanks - have replied to you via PM.

I can see why you're getting repeating bits. Your provider is regularly changing a sessionid of earlier segments in the stream (as part of their scheme for securing the stream), an this makes NextPVR think it's a new segment, so downloads that segment again.

dinsal, can you see if this update fixes it? (I've got no way to test this change myself)

If not, please supply those same logs via PM.

I have the NShared.dll file from 12/8. I'm assuming it has these changes in it? Reason being, I am still experiencing repeating segments on most of my recordings with my IPTV provider. I have no issues watching the same channel live, but the repeating only happens during recording.

Basically you are posting in a thread about a version that is no longer relevant. The patch that you mention does fix a problem in the release version with unnecessary transcoding which is not the problem you mention. Please open a new thread with your logs showing a recording taking place.
