I realize this software is in the early stages and I really appreciate it, however:
I don't know about you guys, but there's no way my wife would be able to figure out the intricacies of PriorityRecordings vs. regular scheduling. It would be nice to have a unified front end that would handle both types of scheduling and offer some feedback.
Right now CDKScheduler does its thing, but you have no real idea what decisions it made. You see programs it chose to schedule on the grid, but you don't see what it skipped.
Some things I'd like
*Programs that did not record due to low priority appear as yellow on the show grid
*When you select a yellow show you are prompted to override this one time or all times. If you choose "all times" it will advance the priority appropriately
*If you attempt to schedule a show already in the system it will explain why it isn't currently being recorded and ask you if you'd like to modify the settings so it WILL record (all channels/ all showings / record duplicates). This will help prevent a hodgepodge of season records AND priorityrecordings.
*If you manually or standard-schedule a show, it checks priorityrecordings and tells you what shows will not be recorded
*A CDKScheduler alert function. Instead of just going ahead and scheduling a show, it alerts you of upcoming shows meeting your criteria (keywords, show title, actor, etc.). You can then click on the show, see what shows won't record if you select it, and choose the function
*TOO MANY BUTTONS! Let's make "Disk Space" a low profile graphic on the main screen. Maybe vertical bars showing available space. Even better, how about a bar in Guide2J showing when on the time line you'll be out of space?
I hope you don't mind all the suggestions! I really like it!
