Program Chunks Repeating

Last night I (perhaps foolishly) upgraded from 4.1.0 to 4.1.1. Now I have problems again with live streams repeating program chunks after a few minutes. Should I revert to 4.1.0? (If it ain't broke . . .)

No, sub, I'm still having the program chunk repeating problem.

I should also clarify - this is using the NPVR add-on in Kodi on an Android box attached to my TV to view a stream, obtaining the stream from NPVR running as a server on a laptop PC in another room. I'm not watching the streams in NPVR directly.

Do I need to do anything to 'refresh' the NPVR add-on?

No you wont need to - it hasn't been updated in a long time.

If you do a recording in NextPVR, do you see the same problem playing back the recording?

Hi. I just played back a program recorded today in NPVR, watching it in VLC on the laptop, and it played perfectly. It seems the problem is only when watching streams live.

When you watch tv in a live tv, it creates buffer files in your live tv buffer directory. If you copy one of these files and play it, does it have problems?

Do you see this issue when watching Live TV direct in NextPVR?

I've just watched a live streaming channel direct in NextPVR on the laptop for about 15 minutes, and there was no problem. The stream was rock solid, with no repeating. But, a couple of hours ago I tried to watch a similar stream through Kodi with the NPVR add-on, and I had to keep stopping and restarting it every 2-3 minutes. It was unwatchable. Playing back recorded programs, either direct in NextPVR, via VLC, or via Kodi on the Android box, also seems to work fine.

I'm not sure what you mean by my "live tv buffer directory." I haven't been able to locate that. Is that different than the Recording Directory?

Given it's working fine in NextPVR, it's sounding more like a Kodi playback issue (since it'll be getting the exact same stream as NextPVR is viewing). If I had to guess, I'd say it's some Kodi + Android issue, because we've certainly seen users reporting odd things happening with Android before, when it's worked fine on other Kodi platforms. Have you got a Kodi on Windows machine you can check it with?

Look in the Settings->Misc screen, near the top, it'll say where your live tv buffer directory is.

OK, I just tried to watch a program I recorded two days ago (Location, Location, Location, from the UK Channel Four), and that had the repeating program chunks problem in the playback, every few minutes. Also the same program chunks were repeated several times, and not always in the same order. I tried to fast forward through some of it, but that just made things even more confusing. The strange thing, though, is that the overall recording length was what I would have expected (just over an hour, allowing for some padding), so there was obviously a lot of program content that was never received or saved.

Found the Live TV buffer - it's just C:\Temp.

I also have the problem. It happens on Kodi and on the NextPvr modern web interface. Also on remote fire sticks and remote window devices.
At about 635 I started the Tennis channel and played for about 1 minute then repeated the video. Couple minutes later it hung up. Nothing in the temp file. Does not occur with live TV on the tuner card, just with IPTV Vader channels. Happens about 90% of the time. Also does not occur on the Vader App or Perfect Player. Strange playing back a recorded show does not have the issue. Also happens using the 127.0.0.1:8866 port.
