I just upgraded to v4.2.1. I was experiencing some issues like streaming freezing, so I thought that I would see if the upgrade would resolve the issue. This issue now is that not all channels stream when selected. I can see the tuner light up, and I get a spinning "Working" on the screen, but then nothing. I can watch the the channels that are effected directly on the NPVR server, but there is a lot of skipping. Its not a good stream.

I have a mix of RPi2's and 3's running Kodi 17.6. This happens on all of them. I've only tested a few channels, but I know channel 1005 and 1058 don't stream when trying to watch on the pi. I was able to watch channel's 1008 and 1060.

I need channel 1005 fixed, or else I'm going to catch hell from the boss. She doesn't know that I broke it, and when she finds out, there'll be hell to pay, so please find the issue and resolve it as soon as possible. Big Grin

Thanks

The upgrade broke more than just streaming. All of my pi's are loosing connectivity to the NPVR server.

After a couple of hours of nothing being played, all connectivity is lost. I have to bounce the NPVR software and reboot the pi's in order to be able to start watching live TV again. Today that didn't even work. I'm trying rebooting the NPVR server to see if I can re-establish connectivity.

I hope that you'll have a chance to look at my logs today to see what might be going on.

Thanks

I tried a little trouble shooting this morning.

I started a debug on the pi started a tail on the log file and then tried to watch one of the channels that I was having issues with. While watching the log file, it appears that the streaming does start, but just isn't playing on the requested channel on the TV. From what I can see watching the logs, everything looks ordinary. I'm guessing that the video just isn't coming across the network?

This also seems consistent with what I reported earlier, that the NPVR is loosing connectivity with the pi's. Twice now I've been watching either live TV or a recording and all of a sudden, I get a popup on the TV telling me that there is no connection with the backend device. (I don't remember the exact wording.) But I've had to reboot both the NPVR server as well as the pi to re-establish connection. For a lack of a better term, NPVR is acting flaky.

Oh, here is a wrinkle. The Android app works. I was able to at least get the app on the bosses tablet so she could watch her show's. That'll at least keep me out of the doghouse for a while. Big Grin

Thanks

Are you able to repeat this and attach the NextPVR logs and Kodi logs showing it happen.

Okay. Here is an example of no connectivity.

I rebooted both the pi and the NPVR server and I then attempted to capture output of a channel that isn't streaming, however, that has not possible at the moment. For some reason, the channels that I had been having issues with are now streaming. I'm sure that it'll act up again.

Thanks

Can you try again posting that kodi.log? It was weirdly missing most of the file, but in a strange way like you had some cut&paste error.

I'll try. I didn't copy/paste.

I just had another issue where the connection dropped while watching live TV. I rebooted the pi, and no connection. I just rebooted the NPVR server and checked netstat. All of the pi's are currently connected. I'll grab another kodi log when I experience the connection issue again.

If you do a recording on this channel in NextPVR, can you play it in Kodi? If not, please supply the kodi.log showing the attempt.

Does the recording play ok in NextPVR?

I just checked a recording that was made today. I have not yet tried it in kodi, but in NextPVR I see a message that say's "Recording service was stopped during recording". It was an hour long show, and recorded 55 minutes. I played a few minutes worth in NPVR and seemed to play okay. I'll try playing it in Kodi later and report back.
