Hi, I am using version 09111, but I have experienced this problem throughout all the latest releases.

Although my XML EPG file is fine, GBPVR will not automatically update the EPG at the planned time. I am aware of the issue regarding the use of the arrows for setting up the EPG update time in the config app, but this does not seem to be the case here, since the PC correctly wakes up at the planned time.

The only workaround I have found so far is to quit GBPVR, open the config app, click on Update EPG and then launch GBPVR again. Adding the -OnlyUpdateEPG action through a button does not work, because GBPVR _has_ to be quit and re-opened for the update to happen.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You do have a file called UpdateEPG.bat in the gbpvr dir? And it containes the command line to get youre xml? This is the file gbpvr runs to get your EPG. Anotherway is to do it via a task. Except you do this:

gbpvr.exe -OnlyUpdateEPG

The above line updates the EPG without having to use the inbuilt task.

Thank you for your reply.

However, I do not think that I need the batch file you described, because my XML guide data are perfectly up-to-date with the latest program information (I use a separate Windows batch to do this).

The problem is that the data do not end up in the GBPVR EPG.

Try this then from the command line. "gbpvr.exe -OnlyUpdateEPG"

If it works just schedule it at a time you want.

Hi Darx-starz, thanks again for your help.

I tried your suggestion. However, the EPG in GBPVR is updated only after GBPVR has been quit and restarted. Which is exactly the problem I was trying to describe at the beginning. Do you know of any procedures that would let me restart GBPVR (not the recording service, but just the interface) automatically? Thanks.

You will probably need to kill it with kill.exe. I think its part of the resource kit. To start it just gbpvr.exe
