Nope, afraid not. I couldn't tell you if this (or other HDPVR type devices) will be supported on Linux - not something I've even thought about. Possibly, for these types of devices where drivers do exist, but it's not a combination that is very high on my priority list. Other more widely used tuners types will be targeted first.

Hi sub,

I think it won't be long after release before a separate forum for V5.x release and even ones for different platforms like Linux to avoid cluttering the support forum with different issues.

Those are non standard app driven which not a true driver it a user space driver and are not V4L2 compatible and those driver where most likely written by Kernel Labs the maker of HDPVRCapture and only one that is 100% compatible is very first HD-PVR model 1212.
There always this MythTV wrapper around the Hauppauge HD-PVR2/Colossus2
Source code is in tgz but body has rewritten them

Cool, no worries. In case you don't have a beta tester using HDPVR-2, I'm happy to volunteer. There have always been stability issues with it and NextPVR when using ac3 audio, and channel changes are slow. Hoping we can fix things up a bit in the new version. Smile

I was using v3.72 on WinXp. This version took several minutes to
sync A/v, up to several minutes.

My GoTo was Hauppauge WinTv8 since it would eventurally sync after
several restarts.

I installed win7-64 and NextPVR 4.2.3. A/V sync was immediate when
the program was displayed.

I had a problem initially where viewing would "hang" for a few
seconds about once an hour. On the third hour the system crashed
and left a brief message about the video driver.

I rebooted and the crash occured again at the third hour but no to
rebooting on it's own.

I removed "Classic Shell" and I havent had a crash since.

It is well know it best to say away from Windows Shell Replacement with Windows XP on words unlike with Windows 9x and 2000

Just to avoid confusion NextPVR 4.2.3 doesn't support XP anyway.

One thing I'm testing now is the HDHomeRunDVR process on a QNAP, which BTW is Linux. Would NextPVR install on a QNAP as well? As far as the FrontEnd, I have an NVIDIA Shield, and would be willing to use that with NPVR or KODI, just haven't gotten that far yet.
So if you need a QNAP tester, I'd be willing to give it a go.
thanks for your continued development Sub.
Hypervisor Host, Linux Ubuntu VM, recording to QNAP NAS, NXTPVR 7.0.1.241229
