Stutter when watching live sports NPVR Version= 4.2.3

There is a stutter when watching live sports. the stutter happens when movement is from side to side. You can also see it when there is a banner moving from side to side on the bottom. It will be smooth for a time and the stutter. Also on playback the Recordings sometimes go into slow motion when I skip ahead and the sound is off for a few seconds and was wondering if these two problems are related Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

I don't know if the two issues are related. But I had/have(?) a similar issue, I call it choppy, it started after I upgraded my TV. After a lot of trial and error I found that by reducing the Resolution on my computer display picture smoothed out just fine.
After a lot of digging, I can only assume that the problem is related to the new television. The old TV was 720p, the new one a whopping 4K, although the output of the computer was 1900x... can't remember the other number.
According to Hauppauge the tuner requires a minimum of 2.6Ghz cpu (I think, my memory isn't what it once was). My cpu puts out a mix of 1.9Ghz. So I assume that is why, but it doesn't explain why yours is stuttering.

Thank you for your response. I may play around with that and try changing the resolution tomorrow tonight when the game comes on and see if it helps. My TV is 1080p so I have my video card set the same and never would have tried changing it had you not replied to my post so thank you. I have also tried changing the settings in auto refresh and the patches mentioned in other posts but nothing I try has helped. It doesn't do it on all the channels only the few that are high definition.

I suggest you check your deinterlacing settings in lav. The description sounds like it is not enabled?

Thank you for your response. Attached is a copy of my settings I have hardware Deinterlacing set but not software. Your thoughts on this are appreciated as I have tried so many things over the last year or so I cant even remember all of what I tried. Thank you.

It is hard to say because the only station you showed in your logs was 720p so it could be an upscaling issue. How does it work with other players like Win TV and Kodi?

I haven't tried those but it works great with Mediaportal. I always liked NPVR over the others and prefer it but Mediaportal

Does it make any difference if you temporarily set your audio to disabled?

I haven't tried that but will see what happens. I have tried so many things including all the patches and changed a lot of the settings without success. It isn't that big of a deal and only does it on some channels and even recordings are affected. I don't know if it is related but I also have an issue on those same channels with the skip ahead and the audio and video are off for a few seconds.

I want to thank you for all that you do and look forward to the new versions including the one you are working on and would love to be one of the beta user's/testers.

I tried disabling the audio and it still has the stutter. I also tried adjusting the resolution on my video card like DDunkin51 suggested and still have the problem. It only happens on the channels that are HD such as WPMI and WALA HD which are the worst. Unfortunately they are also the channels that broadcast the games I like to watch. I appreciate all your efforts and the patches but this one problem I have had with all the versions and I am at my wits end because I think I have tried adjusting the settings in everything I could think of without success. Thanks again for any input or suggestions you might have.
