Hi Sub,

I've got a strange one at the moment -- finally got to doing some larger HD sweeps for OTR movies, and getting more conflicts -- which are okay as NPVR really tries to move things around beautifully in the background.

I am wondering if there is a problem as I keep getting errors like this:

when instead I can see in the log files (I really had to work hard to capture this, the rollover is killing me!) that the recording service is manically trying to allocate a tuner but can't!

The recording should have started at 250am, and due to rollover can only get bits & pieces after the fact (235, 250 and 310am).

Any suggestions? Is this a web display problem instead? Interestingly enough I don't see any "conflict" entries on the web UI, but a couple of failed recordings after the fact.

Thanks,
Dane

It looks like it's saying this is a failed recording, indicating the recording service wasn't running at recording time. Your logs don't cover go as far as 3:20AM, so not sure what was happening around the time of that recording.

When it's in the prepadding time for a recording, if it can't start on the target tuner, because it's in use for something else, each time around the loop it does check if there is another tuner that could be used instead. This generates a few log messages but can be safely ignored.

Hi Sub,

ahhh -- thanks -- I found another snapshot from 0345 (20 minutes after recording to start) which may help.

Still having these issues -- any chance you can look? I have some fresh logs after the DB cleanup and re-initialize of the EPG -- and where 5-6 planned recordings for last night failed.

Did you forget to attach the logs?

@daneo are you sure that tuner 28 Cinergy C PCI Digital Tuner (1) is working? I don't see it locked to any signal in your logs. Maybe disable the other tuners and see if live tv works on it.

Hi Martin,

you're right -- let me get some good logs (@Sub -- ROLLOVER FEATURE!) and come back to see what happens -- I made the stupid mistake of deleting the failed entries and now can't easily pull out the data for logs -- let met me get the needed infos.

And yes -- back then the PCI was a bit problematic due to PCIe/PCI bus timing -- turning off PCIE power management helped there, but the Cinergy is just me avoiding paying € 150 for another set of tuners from Digital Devices.
