alternate ntfs streams gone?

hmmm, tried to import a recording, and noticed none of my recent files have the ntfs alternate stream info anymore...what happened?
how am i to import a recording that has only a .xml file? why were those changed from the same as the ntfs file? makes it hard to reconstruct data..
i don't remember that mentioned in release notes..
used to be easy as pie to import missing/orphaned files, now i really don't know where to start..
i tried xml import and .ts import, neither work as no ntfs stream and the weird format of .xml file.

is there a setting to change the ntfs alt stream writing?

seems sometime around last august they quit working for me..

is there a script we can fix the ntfs streams with correct data with?
is there a list of the correct data that is supposed to be in ntfs stream for proper import?

The ADS info is still there here try notepad filename:metadata.xml or filename:Timing.Info to view them. Perhaps you copied the files to share and lost them.

i wish...that is how i access them..notepad..
for some reason they just quit..none of my last 6 mos have the data...atsc and iptv...the old files on same drive have the data..
the timing.info is there for the files that have no metadata.xml

could it be that writing the xml is cancelling the ntfs? i save the xml for each file...they used to be as useful, but now the format is muddled

I don't use the extended metadata in NextPVR perhaps that broke this feature. You might try a test to see if that is it.

also, i have autoremovemissingrecordings set to false, and with rec service OFF, just going into nextpvr.exe deleted my recordings!!! [recordings were temp unavailable]
and noremovewhentreemissing set to true...!! why did it remove my recordings?

it seems to be ignoring the storeseparatemetadataxml setting completely...double checked and restarted rec service and nextpvr.exe
i still get an xml w each recording, and no ntfs data..?

I meant the download art and metadata options since I don't use the art based recording and video libaries and I don't care about art in Kodi.

Sorry about your recording database, I've go the same settings since the MVP days and mine are still intact. I do pay attention to that when I try a new client though.

art based recording and video libaries? wha? i just use sd epg from xml, if you mean dl artwork? it is checked but i don't use those screens in either..
set to not show artwork in either screen..
i meant the storeSeparateXml setting in config.xml i've always had it running in the past, and now i cant get it to shut off!? nor get the ntfs working again...are ntfs metadata working in your latest recordings?

oh and this is not on any client...it's on server w local nextpvr.exe

ok, with dl artwork and metadata off, it correctly doesn't create the xml file ...but still no ntfs stream metadata
oh and it still creates the weird .xml when dl artwork/metadata is off!!! [if you turn storeseparatemetadata true] it's my metadata, but in a strange not very useful format..
we used to be able to just copy that data into a file and import, now useless for that..or could import that single file, or copy it to ntfs stream to fix and import..not anymore.

catering to kodi i guess...

still wished i'd known that the .xml data was going to be overridden changed by that...cuz it is only backup if things go wrong before an epg update creates daily backups...


the removal of my files is concerning bigtime tho..that setting is supposed to prevent this very thing...argh
