For a while now ( I think it started before latest update) I have had black screen with no sound intermittently when starting playback of recordings or Live TV.
If I skip forward then the file starts playing at the point in time I skipped to.
This issue does not happen when resuming a file.
Logs attached.
I played a few recordings using the restart option because they had already got a resume option , the file definitely has to be started from the beginning for the issue to occur.
Issue occurs in log with the show "Edwardians in colour".
When I skipped forward the file played.
Thanks

I see this in about one recording in every fifteen ... I have never identified a common factor (but I haven't tried very hard).

It looks to me as if the playback of the recording is not starting. It might be that the TS reader chokes on the first frame or somesuch ... it might be useful if somebody was able to upload an example recording to Dropbox or somewhere ... hint: "Edwardians in Colour" might be a suitable example recording ... this might help ... http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...y.CutChunk

I haven't seen this behaviour here.

Is it certain files, and will it do it again playing that file?

Knowing that it's not just me ... I'll investigate a bit when it next happens ... might not be for a few days.

For me it's random and not file specific - that file I mentioned in my post has played ok since , I was just hoping something showed in the logs with it because those logs were zipped when the issue occurred. Since then I have had another file which had been ok previously exhibit the problem as well.

Thanks

It happened to me last night ... But, the file played perfectly on the second and subsequent attempts to play from the start. This morning my empty head has forgotten which show it was so I can't look in the logs.

I'll look at the logs the next time it happens.

Same here - although mainly on playing straight from the epg ... As for a common factor -> Location UK

Wonder if its due to the huge amount of B & P frames between key frames in order to squeeze in as many channels per mux as they can - probably cause of the 10 to 15 seconds it takes for sound and video to sync at the start, as well.
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

i've seen this too, and i'm in US so doesn't seem to be a standards thing.
it is kinda few and far between, but less than a week and typically more than a day between..
for me it's always from epg..restart stream and it's fine everytime..

it 'feels' like something in directx isn't starting up in time..hence subsequent lack of issues
