Hi,
how can I switch to teletext viewing from Live TV? Is there a key, a click of some sort or am I missing something?

Thx!

From another thread in this forum:

You must be using VMR, then press the FUNC key on the remote or press CTRL-O on the keyboard. Then type the page number and press OK.

What is VMR? Does it have any disadvantages?
Hauppauge PVR 350 - Nova-T USB2 - Intel 2800MHz? - 512 MB RAM - Windows XP - No Mouse nor Keyboard.

OverlayManager/VMR7/VMR9 are all way the PC can use to draw video and overlaid graphics to your screen.

Both of the VMR option provide some advanced mixing features which I use for the teletext support for overlaying the teletext screen. OverlayManager does not have this feature, so GB-PVR can not show teletext on OverlayManager.

I still couldn't make the teletext work. Pressing the CTRL-O just freezes the picture. And pressing CTRL-O again unfreezes it.

I have all the appropriate settings (enable teletext, VMR9) as far as I know.

Does the teletext work to anyone with the Lifeview Walker Mini on GB-PVR?

my configuration:
[DELL Inspiron 8100 (USB 1.1), WIN 2000, GBPVR09111, Walker drivers 1.6, DirectX 9.0b]

I can't find any information anywhere that says that the Lifeview TV Walker Mini supports teletext. Where did you read it would?

It says so on the box if I am not mistaken.
It also says so on the official Lifeview Walker mini site - there is also a picture showing teletext. Here is a link: http://www.lifeview.com.tw/html/products...r_mini.htm

However, the teletext button in the original application does not work...as many other things from Lifeview...

You are right, sorry about that. My suggestion, though, is that you first try to get it to work in their native application.

Huh, ... that is one of the reasons I tried the GB-PVR. Because of the lack of support for teletext in the native application.
However, TTX was not the only problem, the native application is also very slow at switching channels (GB-PVR is much faster) and has an unbeliveably disfunctional user interface (for instance max 4 letters of channel names can be seen in the channel switcher....I will not go into this nightmare any further....).

Besides, I also asked the support (I am their customer after all) if their application could be made to show the teletext. And if I can expect the Walker to show teletext in their application in the future or in any other application - and there was no response...

What I mean is that GBPVR doesn't - at least I don't think so - show the teletext itself. My guess is that it just asks your card's drivers to show the teletext. And if your card's drivers can't do that (for some reason or another), GBPVR can't do any magic and show it itself. So, the first step would be to verify that the drivers (or hardware, for that matter :-)) actually is able to show teletext at all. And that I assume would be easiest to verify in the card's native application. But it doesn't have to be that way. Obviously the native application can call the drivers the wrong way, and then it won't work there either, even if the drivers are functioning...
